3-D Tree

Description: For this project we made a 3-D tree. We had to draw two trees on a big piece of white paper. Then we had to color the trees with two different types of media. I used markers and colored pencils. Then we had to draw a background. I did the grass, sky, and a pumpkin. Each side had to have a different season to represent. After coloring everything, we had to cut strips out of the trees that we made, and glue them opposite on the paper. Then we had to fold the paper accordion style to give the 3-D effect.

Extension: For an extension activity I would work with the students on the seasons. They will have to research the different seasons and what happens in each. Then they will have to write a short story about a season and how it affected the people or wildlife in their story.
